For the feedstock used to make recyclates, Ecoplast only uses post-consumer waste from domestic and commercial consumers. The waste is pre-sorted and mainly supplied in compressed bales.
Our production process starts when we break up the bales and sort them into different materials.
After the plastic has been shredded, it undergoes the first cleaning cycle in a washing system. Immediately afterwards another sorting process takes place to remove foreign material.
The material is then broken down into flakes about the size of a fingernail and washed and cleaned again to remove any remaining foreign material.
The sorted material is dried and then, in the final stage, fused together and turned into granules by an extruder.
The result is granules of pure recycled polyethylene.
